The meeting was called to order by the Chairman at 7:32 pm. Ms. Jablonski, Ms. Allen, Ms. Littlefield, Ms. Newman, and Mr. Young were present. Also present were Dr. King and Ms.Wong. Representing the Student Congress was Ryan Speers.
RECOGNITIONS of RETIRING FACULTY
Dr. King and School Committee acknowledged faculty members who are retiring at the close of this school year, many of whom were present to receive copies of tributes prepared by their principals or department heads.

SCHOOL COMMITTEE’S REPORT
The committee joined Chairman Jablonski in congratulating the Wellesley High School Class of 2006, whose graduation ceremony on June 2 in a festive indoor venue at Babson College was “spectacular.” The committee also commended the graduation faculty speaker, David McCullough. At its recent meeting Wellesley Education Foundation approved funding of the elementary mathematics specialist position for at least one year, with an expectation of extending funding for two additional years. Hardy School recently celebrated the completion and dedication of its indoor roof project, which incorporates many elements of the curriculum. On June 22 the middle school building will be turned over again to the contractor for summer work on the renovations. The building will be closed to parents and students. The high school building project community kick-off meeting will occur on Wednesday, June 14. The programming consultant will be present and will address the future of education as he sees it. Two two-day focus groups with students, parents, faculty and department heads have been scheduled in June and in August. Student Congress will remain actively involved as the high school project progresses.
